Widnes Wild are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward, #68 Matt Tarpey for the 25/26 season!

This season will mark Tarpey’s 3rd with the club, having returned back to ice hockey last year after a 4yr break from when he first stepped on the ice, following an extensive roller hockey career.

Last season, Matt recorded 3 points (1 goal + 2 assists) from 24 games and has agreed to act as injury cover for the squad this season.

Following his re-signing to Widnes, Matt commented,

“I am so happy to be signing for this club again this year its like a close family, we have a strong core group of players both on and off the ice which I had to say yes to coming back to. Hopefully we can put in a shift and compete at the level we know we can and what is required of us.

Really looking forward to playing in front of the fans once more, we will put on a show for you”

Meanwhile Head Coach, Tom Jackson added,

“The personality Tarpey brings into the room is contagious. He is the type of character we want to have in our experienced players on the team, we have quite a young team and this is key for us.

A great all round person who brings good attitude towards the ethos of the team. Matt brings his everything on the ice in our colours and wants to push himself to his maximum, we look forward to his contributions again this year.“
