Widnes Wild are delighted to announce the signing of 5 young prospects ahead of the 25/26 season, each on 2-way agreements!
Widnes welcome back 17yr old forward, Jared Knowles who will renew his 2-way agreement with Wild and NIHL2 side, Bradford Bulldogs, whilst also icing for our u19 squad.
We welcome defensemen, Josh Guy, Reece O’Brien and Leo Cooper for the upcoming season. All 3 will continue to ice for their home sides of Bradford, Widnes and Altrincham respectively, allowing them to gain senior experience at multiple levels.
16yr old prospect netminder, Owen Severn also joins the Wild set up from Manchester Storm academy for his first senior year.
Following their signing to the Wild, each player commented,
Jared Knowles – “I am really excited to be back at Widnes this season. I’m ready to progress, make an impact and can’t wait to get the season started with the team.”
Josh Guy – “I am looking forward to starting with the Wild on a two way this season and playing at a higher level. I feel like making this jump to senior hockey will help me develop my skills not only mentally but physically too.”
Reece O’Brien – “It’s been a goal of mine to play for the Wild since I started with the Academy. I can’t wait to get started and I am looking forward to the season ahead.”
Leo Cooper – “I’m very excited to play my first senior season with Widnes. I am looking forward to developing within the club and seeing where the season takes me.”
Owen Severn – “Excited to get started with the Widnes Wild! Can’t wait to play in front of the fans and give it my all.”
Meanwhile Head Coach, Tom Jackson added,
“The 2-way pathway players are vital for any clubs’ longevity and will give valuable experience and opportunity to the young guys, so that when they are ready, they can take that step into senior hockey.
These guys will be stepping into the player pathway ,being in and around the senior players and learning as much as they can from every shift.
It’s great to have them on board for the season ahead!”
