The YKK Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the new signing of Torran Anderson for the 23/24 season.
Widnes Wild have injected more young talent in to the squad in the form of Torran Anderson. The club have signed the talented Scotsman on another 2-way contract with Scottish side Kilmarnock Thunder, where he has played his hockey from day one, academy through to senior level. From his time under the Kilmarnock Blizzard U16s, he recorded 35 points (10 goals + 25 assists) from 23 games. Most recently, he has iced for Kilmarnock’s senior side and has posted 15 points so far. Torran has a number of caps as he represented the Scotland National Teams throughout his Junior career. Anderson will be making his debut for the Widnes Wild this Sunday against the Whitley Warriors.
New signing Torran Anderson commented:
‘I’m looking forward to playing with Widnes, it’s a great opportunity for me to test myself in a different league. I’m a hard working, creative team player and hope to make a strong contribution to the Wild’s season. I’m grateful for the opportunity Joey has given me with this 2-way deal between Widnes and the Thunder and I can’t wait to get started.’
Meanwhile, player-coach Joey Coulter added:
‘We are all thrilled to announce the latest addition to our roster, Torran Anderson. At just 17 years old, Torran brings a fresh wave of talent and enthusiasm to the ice. He’s incredibly silky for a player standing tall at 6ft 2in and he’s ready to make a big impact on the league. He possesses exceptional skills and remarkable vision on the ice that extend well beyond his years. His mature playmaking ability has already turned heads in the hockey world, and we can’t wait to see what damage he can do in a Wild jersey!’
