Widnes Wild are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman, #4 Nathan Bennett for the 25/26 season!

Bennett most recently iced with fellow Division 1 side, Leeds Knights 2, recording 9 points (1 goal + 8 assists) from 33 games!

Nathan progressed through the Sutton Sting academy, before completing his junior career in Sheffield. He then played a brief stint with Blackburn Hawks 2 prior to re-joining Sutton Sting for 3 seasons.

Following his signing to Widnes, Nathan commented,

“I’m extremely happy for the opportunity this upcoming season to wear a Wild Jersey! I can’t wait to get started and hopefully contribute to a great season ahead!

See you all in September when the first puck drops!”

Meanwhile, Head Coach Tom Jackson added,

“When I found out Nathan was on the market, I was eager to pursue him.

I saw good things from him when Widnes came up against him last year, he proved difficult for the guys to play against, being strong defensively which impressed me.

Nathan will be a great fit in the dressing room and he performed well during our trial session. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for the squad this season as I feel he will be a great addition to our roster.”
