Rebuilding for Success – On & Off the Ice

Widnes Wild Ice Hockey Club is pleased to announce an important structural update ahead of the upcoming season. Stephen Cunningham will be joining the Board of Directors, and a new steering group is being formed to help guide and support the club’s ongoing development.

As part of this transition, Georgia Weekes, Mike Hussey, and Ellie Newton will be stepping down from the Board. We extend our sincere thanks to each of them for their dedication and contributions to the club.

Regarding his appointment to the Board of Directors Stephen Cunningham commented,

“Last season marked the beginning of the redevelopment, one focused on returning to our core values and laying the foundation for a lasting, winning culture. Our commitment is to nurture dedicated hockey players with the right attitude, through sustainable coaching and long-term development.

While last season began with challenges in the win column, the growth we achieved as a team was evident by the season’s end. As we prepare for the new season, we’re eager to build on that momentum and continue moving forward.

At this time we want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors and fans. Your unwavering support continues to be instrumental throughout the rebuild, and we cannot achieve progress without you.”

We’re excited for what lies ahead, it’s a promising time for Widnes Wild, both on and off the ice. Stay tuned for further news and those all important upcoming player announcements!
