The YKK Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the new signing of Bailey Thomson on a 3-way for the 23/24 season.
Thomson is a prospect of the Solway Sharks academy, having most recently iced for the U16 and U19 teams last season. In total, he played 32 games for both sides and racked up an impressive 97 points (43 goals + 54 assists). Bailey has also represented Scotland over several years, being selected to compete in national tournaments. This season, Thomson will also be icing for the Solway Sharks academy and SNL side Kilmarnock Thunder alongside Gallacher, Anderson and McNulty, to gain more experience at a senior level.
New signing Bailey Thomson commented:
‘ I’m really looking forward to playing for the Wild and working with Joe again, he was my first coach at Solway and is someone I’ve always respected as a coach and player. I really appreciate the opportunity and I’d like to thank both Widnes and Solway for making this happen.’
Meanwhile, player-coach Joey Coulter added:
‘Bailey Thomson has had an incredible junior career, the stats paint a pretty clear image of what kind of player we are getting here. Bailz played a pivotal role in the Solway Juniors winning a league title last year – that mentality, training at National level and a little support from our coaching team, he should hit the ground running at senior level.’
