The YKK Widnes Wild faced another difficult defeat on Sunday when Hull Jets travelled home with a 6-1 victory over the Wild team.
1st Period: 0-3
It was an uphill climb from the beginning of the game for the Wild as Hull took the lead at 2:58 through #2 Charlie Powell, who flicked his shot over #35 Luca Tessadri in the Wild goal to open the scoring, #96 Devids Jurienenoks and #77 Ian Kerman getting the assists.
The Jets took their second goal at 7:33 through #98 Aiden Dancer’s top corner shot following assists from #27 Ethan Daintith and #34 Felix Sorensen.

The third goal came at 8:13 when Jets #19 Richard Haggar squeezed the puck past Wild #35 Luca Tessadri at the near post, assisted by #98 Aiden Dancer and #27 Ethan Daintith.
The first penalty of the game came at 10:08; two-minute coincidental minors issued to Hull Jets #44 Kohen Taylor for hooking and Widnes Wild’s #12 Luke Alston for holding the stick.
Widnes Wild’s goaltender #35 Luca Tessadri saved his team from going 0-4 down in the first period when he made an excellent save to deny Hull at 13:54.
Wild’s #77 Ben McLellan headed to the box at 14:01 for two minutes after a high sticking call against Hull Jets #98 Aiden Dancer.
2nd Period: 0-4
The Wild team picked up as the second period started, with #29 Josh Guy having their best chance of the game at 24:04; his shot is saved and rebounded back into play by the Jets goaltender #1 Sasha Bravo and no Wild players could react quickly enough to send another quick shot on goal.

Hull Jets #96 Devids Jurienenoks sat for two minutes at 30:05 for interference giving the Wild their first powerplay of the game.
The home team formed a decent build of play with their man advantage, giving #43 Will Daley an opportunity to pull one back but his shot headed wide.
The Jets received another penalty at 31:35 when #44 Kohen Taylor headed to the box for two minutes for tripping, leaving Wild with a two-man advantage for a short period of time.
The team were unable to capitalise on their extended powerplay, however, and only managed one shot through #43 Will Daley.
Hull Jets received their own powerplay at 38:57 when Wild’s #16 Mikey Gilbert was sent to the box for two minutes for slashing.

The extra man was what Hull Jets needed to extend their lead as at 39:49 #18 Boris Giba scored his teams fourth goal of the night, assisted by #14 Scott Morris and #19 Richard Haggar.
3rd Period: 1-6
Widnes Wild had a string of shots to open the third period, helped when Hull Jets went shorthanded at 41:43 after Jets #44 Kohen Taylor headed to the box for two minutes for cross-checking.
Hull Jets nearly got their fifth goal of the game at 46:15 when #14 Scott Morris had an almost open net to aim his shot at, yet he managed to send the puck looping over the top of the bar.
Their fifth did come soon after at 50:41 through #19 Richard Haggar who flicked his shot calmly into the back of the net, #98 Aiden Dancer and #96 Devids Jurienenoks getting the assists.
Hull Jets #28 Chris Wilcox headed to the bench at 55:24 for two minutes for a tripping call against Wild’s #44 Dani Haid, who was assisted to the bench by teammates for medical treatment.
There was a penalty for both teams at 56:53 when Jets #22 Alex Kent sat for two minutes for charging and Wild #8 Flynn Massie for roughing.
There was something for the home fans to celebrate at 57:08 when the Wild finally opened their account for the night through #18 Johnathan Williamson, who scored his unassisted goal on the powerplay.
The final action of the game went against Widnes Wild when Hull Jets #14 Scott Morris scored their sixth and final goal at 59:58 after finding himself in a prime spot to pick up the puck ahead of goal and fire into the net, #19 Richard Haggar with the assist.
Match MVPS went to Widnes Wild’s #29 Josh Guy for his relentless performance throughout the game and Hull Jets #1 Sasha Bravo for his stellar result between the pipes.
