Widnes Wild IHC are delighted to announce the re-signing of netminder, #30 Paul Maudsley for the 25/26 season!

Maudsley joined Widnes part-way through last season and quickly became a reliable member of the squad when called upon, starting 3 games for Wild, recording an 85.3% SA.

Paul is an experienced netminder, developing through the Kingston academy before moving to Trafford Metros in 2011, where he then iced his first minutes in NIHL 1 the following season. Most notably, he also signed with EPIHL side Manchester Phoenix in the 2013/14 season.

Following his re-signing to the club, Paul commented,

“I’m really happy to be back with the team for another season. Looking forward to helping the team get a playoff spot, especially after how close we came last season. The fans last year were great and its exciting to be back on board playing in front of them once more”

Meanwhile Head Coach, Tom Jackson added,

“Paul brings a great deal of experience into the dressing room with being around the senior game for a long time. He is a great character and we look to use his experience to aid the right mindset and actions we want to be shown to our younger players within the club.

Paul is a netminder who can most definitely be called upon as he has shown over the course of last season with some stand out performances from him between the pipes, most notably the Billingham Valentine’s home game he iced for us. We can’t wait to see him back in the fold again.“
